Description
Vincennes University is seeking applicants for a Math Learning Coach. This is a part-time support staff position located in the Lawrenceburg High School Early College site in Lawrenceburg, IN. This is a 10-month position.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide academic math tutoring in college algebra and trigonometry for students in a one-on-one, group or classroom setting.
- Work closely with in-person Lawrenceburg teachers and online VU professors to monitor the academic progress of students who are struggling with courses in early college.
- Assist in-person teachers in the classroom to help students learn material.
- Provide supplemental support, as needed, that would enhance student learning.
- Evaluate and document student progress in tracking system.
- Support the vision of the Early College High School by fostering a college-going culture: Including actively recruitment of students in need of tutoring, delivering student orientations and classroom visits.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to develop success study strategies for students to successfully complete courses.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proven math skills to assist students in college math such as college algebra and trigonometry.
- A math proficiency test will be administered to demonstrate math capabilities.
