Job Summary

The primary focus of this Accounts Receivable Specialist role will be overseeing all aspects of a sizable accounts receivable portfolio (approx. ~$130M covering 335 accounts). In addition, the position will assist the department by backing up the cash application function as well as handling some of the administrative duties to help ensure efficient, timely and accurate payment of accounts under his or her control.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Contact clients to collect accounts receivables and follow up on delayed payments.
• Actively research and resolve payment discrepancies and overpayments made.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Prepare and send invoices to clients as needed.
• Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
• Investigate and resolve customer queries.
• Generate and deliver reports to different departments as needed.
• Perform back-up duties for cash application role.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• College degree in Business Administration or related field strongly preferred; in lieu of a degree, additional years of applicable work experience may be considered.
• One-three (1-3) years accounts receivable experience and/or general accounting experience.
  • Experience to include proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Familiarity with industry-standard accounting software, Oracle a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to handle potential tense interactions with clients.
• A desire and ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish daily goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally walk, stand, balance, stoop, bend and kneel.
• Occasionally must push, pull, move or lift up to 10 lbs.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment:

Job function will be carried out in an office environment.
