The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy is seeking assistance in the Office of Admissions with recruitment, programming, events, and administrative support and is looking for a new Admissions Fellow . This role will provide exposure to this core Higher Education function and support the implementation of strategic and targeted student recruitment activities on and off-Grounds, assist with marketing and communication campaigns, provide research assistance, and support the logistical and administrative operations of the Admissions Office.

What you will do:

  • Operational and logistical support of recruitment and admissions programming of the Admissions Office, on and off Grounds.

  • Represent Batten Admissions at events to include visiting external partners; participating in fairs and other collaborative events; and visiting classes, student organizations, and participating in other partnered programming with university offices and entities.

  • Assist with marketing and communications tasks, including email campaigns, social media, and print materials.

  • Assist with prospective student inquiries, emails, visits, and other requests.

  • Advise prospective students during office hours and scheduled appointments.

  • Support evaluation and admissions process by preparing for Admissions Committee meetings, communicating and coordinating logistics, organizing materials, and performing related tasks.

  • Provide research support to facilitate the development of new recruitment pipelines and programming.

  • Assist with administrative tasks to include purchasing and reimbursement, records management, meeting support, office and calendar management, and collaboration with relevant Batten and UVA offices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree, and at least 1 year of related experience. Experienced gained while a student will be considered.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • The ability to create and maintain organized workflows and processes with attention to detail.

  • The ability to meet competing deadlines and maintain accuracy.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office applications (Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to travel to recruiting events, work nights and weekends as necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $45,000 - $55,000

This is a 1-year term limited position with eligibility for renewal up to 1 additional year.
