Job Summary

Under limited supervision, analyzes and forecasts financial, economic and other data to provide timely and accurate information for strategic and operational decisions. Interprets financial information on costs, prices, expenses and revenues and makes recommendations to senior management. Conducts and documents complex financial analysis projects. Guides and advises less-experienced professionals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyzes and forecasts financial, economic and other data to provide timely and accurate information for strategic and operational decisions.

2. Interprets financial information on costs, prices, expenses and revenues and makes recommendations to senior management. Initiates, coordinates and completes the annual (Nenkei) and mid-year (Shukei) planning processes.

3. Develops analysis of economic indicators in order to prepare forecasts and analyze the company’s short, medium and long term financial position.

4. Prepares in-depth evaluation of plans and identifies new methods of analysis and presentations.

5. Conducts environmental scans, organization positioning analysis and other studies. Identifies, investigates, evaluates and may assist in negotiating acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in alliance with the organization’s long range plans.

6. Acts as project lead to consistently kaizen existing financial analysis planning and processes and recommend implementation of identified improvements.

7. Acts as resource to less experienced professionals.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Level of Education and Training Required
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field and 5-8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum Level of Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of financial reporting or business intelligence tools.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to create innovative solutions to difficult situations. Ability to predict trends based upon systemic understanding of the organization’s operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and good presentation skills. Ability to communicate with internal and external customers on issues of moderate to considerable importance
  • Good customer service skills. Ability to promote and support a service-oriented environment
  • Good negotiation skills. Ability to defend position strongly while keenly aware of the need to maximize benefits for all sides
  • Ability to apply the PDCA process to own work

Annual Salary: $93,700-$117,000
