Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner Job at Hattie Larlham
The Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner provides developmentally appropriate care throughout the lifespan for individuals with developmental disabilities living at the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities in Mantua, Ohio. This position works collaboratively with the medical team and completes comprehensive history and physical exams, performs assessments, and provides diagnoses for children and adults with complex, chronic conditions.
Job Opening:
- Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider - Nurse Practitioner, salaried/exempt
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, Days, 8-hour shifts
- Starting salary is commensurate with experience.
- Primary Location: Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities, 9772 Diagonal Rd., Mantua, Ohio
- This position is supported by University Hospitals. Applicant will maintain a Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating UH physician and have privileges as approved by the UH credentialing committee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides developmentally appropriate care throughout the lifespan for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Completes comprehensive history and physical exam on individuals with complex, chronic conditions
- Performs assessments and provides diagnosis using evidenced based practice
- Collaborates with other health care providers in an interdisciplinary approach to provide care
- Participates in medical team rounds; collaborates with nursing, medical and other healthcare team members regularly to ensure quality care. Refers to specialists as appropriate for consultation or for specialized health resources and treatment.
- Communicates effectively with families and guardians
- Monitors the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
- Contributes to the educational development of staff, families and self
- Provides education through role modeling to meet identified learning needs of staff and to promote professionalism
- Advances own professional development through self-directed learning, continuing education and participation in peer review
- Initiates and maintains positive relationships with residents and staff
- Displays commitment to the mission and values of the institution
- Provides on-call support via phone
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current valid Ohio Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure
- MSN required from an accredited ARPN training program, Family Practice or Pediatric trained NP
- National certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by nationally accredited organization recognized by state of Ohio Board of Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- DEA required within 60 days of hire
