Agile Principal Software Engineer

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Schedule: Full Time

Salary Range: $70K-$80K

OVERVIEW

Caribou Thunder is seeking an Agile Principal Software Engineer to design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions in an Agile Team.

CLEARANCE

• REQUIRED: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
• PREFERRED: Active Secret Clearance

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM plus 5 years of software development experience.
• OR a Master’s degree plus 2 years of software development experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls.
• Prepares operating instructions.
• Designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensure software standards are met.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years work experience with C++
• Experience mentoring junior software engineers regarding code quality and modularity
• Experience developing software development branching models
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira)
• Experience developing Unit and Component test
• Experience with running SonarQube and Fortify Scans

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on SCRUM teams and using the SAFe model
