Job Title: Analyst, Sustainability and Climate

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Sustainability and Climate

Summary

The Analyst, Sustainability and Climate will support implementation of Newell Brands operational sustainability and climate strategies for the Newell Enterprise. The position will report directly to the Sr. Manager of Sustainability and Climate, reporting and executing initiatives across all business units and regions.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze complex datasets to inform Newell Brands annual public sustainability reporting including the Corporate Citizenship Report (CCR), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Walmart Gigaton and THESIS, and any necessary stakeholder request.
• Research sustainability issues across a broad range of ESG topics in alignment with Newell’s sustainability goals and a carbon neutral future.
• Develop a deep level of understanding of the data, focusing on ensuring the right balance of accuracy and completeness with timely delivery of required information.
• Learn to navigate seamlessly throughout the organization during data gathering and analysis activities, fostering relationships with partners throughout the business to support data requirements.
• Support measurement of KPIs (key performance indicators) tracking progress towards publicly stated goals including, but not limited to, portfolio-wide energy, water, and waste standards.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other communications tools on sustainability industry initiatives, trends, and regulations, including best practices, benchmarking, and sharing of regulatory updates.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in operational sustainability across complex supply chains, or similar role in the consumer hard goods industry or consulting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences, sustainability, or related subject area, preferred.
• Passion, energy, and commitment to ESG and sustainability.
• Thrives in a highly collaborative environment working with diverse stakeholders, influencing internal and external partners.
• Exposure to GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD reporting and emerging global sustainability standards a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of sustainability concepts as well as emerging trends with ability to apply this knowledge to support sustainability projects.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrates expertise in Microsoft Office suite applications.
• Motivated, team player who is a true multi-tasker.

Travel Requirements:

Position will require up to 10% primarily domestic US travel with occasional international (Asia, LATAM, UK, and EU) travel.
