Job Title: Part-Time/Stipend-Based Digital Animation Instructor

Department: Fine Arts

Reports To: Upper School Principal and Fine Arts Director

Summary:

Prince of Peace Christian School is seeking a talented and passionate Part-Time/Stipend-Based Digital Animation Instructor to join our school community. As the Part-Time/Stipend-Based Digital Animation Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching digital animation courses to students in grades 9-12. You will play a vital role in nurturing students' passion for digital animation, developing their digital animation skills, and fostering Christian values through digital art education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach digital animation courses to students in grades 9-12, including planning, organizing, and executing digital animation lessons, demonstrations, and projects.
  • Select appropriate digital animation topics and projects that align with the school's values and educational objectives.
  • Collaborate with students, teachers, and staff to develop and implement a comprehensive digital animation curriculum.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to students on digital animation techniques, software, and other digital animation skills.
  • Coordinate and oversee the use of digital animation equipment and facilities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages students to express themselves, take creative risks, and develop their talents.
  • Promote the integration of Christian values and biblical principles into digital animation education, fostering a positive and uplifting experience for participants and audiences.
  • Mentor and guide students in developing teamwork, discipline, responsibility, and self-confidence through their participation in digital animation classes and projects.
  • Conduct demonstrations and lead discussions on digital animation topics.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Stay current with industry trends, digital animation techniques, and best practices in digital animation education.
  • Attend faculty meetings, staff meetings, and professional development sessions as required by the school administration.
  • Be on campus 30 minutes before the first class and 30 minutes after the last class, as well as during performances.
  • Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe and conducive learning and performance environment for students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Arts, Computer Animation, Film, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience teaching digital animation to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Strong knowledge of digital animation, software, and other digital animation principles.
  • Proficiency in a variety of digital animation skills, such as character animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, and visual effects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple aspects of digital animation classes and projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and inventory.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for digital animation education, inspiring students to explore their talents and develop a love of animation.
