QUESTIONS
The Asset Management Programmer is an essential member of the Utilities Asset Management team. The team member assists in the development of training materials, performs feature and report development, troubleshoots complex end-user support issues and associated duties within the asset management system. Coordinates with IT personnel for database and server related support issues as well as software upgrades. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a team environment, be well-versed in SQL and T-SQL programming language, and have experience in writing reports using SSRS reporting services or similar.
Assists the Sr. Asset Management Programmer in the analysis, design, implementation, testing and documentation of the Utilities asset management system in a team environment. Assists in the development, deployment, and maintenance of the asset management system using. Net, XML, HTML, T- SQL. Ability to use Visual Studio for web and report development. Follows software development standards and best practices. Works efficiently with minimal supervision and documents those efforts thoroughly. Performs related work as required. Occasional off hours work may be required.
- Proficiency with SQL, T-SQL, and XML.
- Perform data analysis to produce key performance indicators.
- Perform ad hoc queries to ensure data integrity.
- The ability to develop reports using SSRS reporting services or similar.
- Knowledge of project planning, to include estimation of tasks and time requirements.
- Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as required is essential.
PHYSICAL SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written and visual communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate degree in computer science, management information systems or related field and two (2) years’ experience in the development and maintenance of software applications. Cognos or SSRS report generation experience preferred. Highly preferred qualifications include: Comfortable working in team environment, well- versed in SQL and TSQL programming language, and experienced in writing reports using SSRS reporting services or similar.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a valid Florida driver's license.
