The Business Office is one of 11 divisions in the City of Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Department. The LTU team provides transit, transportation and utilities services year-round to the citizens of Lincoln. Nearly 600 team members make up LTU. Nature of Work/Examples of Work Performed

This is professional administrative and supervisory work with responsibility for assisting in the overall management of business office functions for the Transportation and Utilities Department. Work involves responsibility for assisting the Business Manager in reviewing, coordinating, and supervising the accountant and fiscal team for the Department. Work also involves assisting in the determination and implementation of automated accounting needs of the Department; and supervising and coordination of the accountant team in the yearly Utilities Audit.

Minimum Qualifications/Necessary Special Requirements

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, business or public administration, or related field; and four years of professional level supervisory experience in Transportation and Utilities business office; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities, and skills.


To be eligible for insurance benefits, employees must work at least 30 hours per week.

To be eligible for the retirement plan, employees must work at least 20 hours per week.

Temporary, seasonal, and unclassified employees are not eligible for benefits.
