Cuddledown is seeking an Assistant Manufacturing Manager for our facilty in Yarmouth, Maine. This position supports manufacturing operations, producing the highest quality products. Develop and execute Manufacturing Plans. Continuously improve the level of performance for the Manufacturing Department. Maintain work areas in a tidy and clean manner and follow through with all safety regulations. Be a leader in the Continuous Improvement culture.
**Work Shift: Monday-Thursday 5:30am-4:00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor.
- Recruit, coach, and develop team members along the continuous improvement journey.
- Develop and sustain standard production processes.
- Plan and execute daily production plan.
- Provide insight into production process improvements.
- Support packaging development and production.
- Support raw material receiving and daily setup.
- Order office and shipping supplies, packaging supplies and safety supplies.
- Maintain quality control at all levels.
- Deescalate, coach, and promote a harmonious work environment.
- Promote safe working practices, verify that company safety guidelines are followed.
- Manage Shipping from Yarmouth.
- Contribute to team & leadership meetings.
- Support and analyze production performance data.
- Support machine repair and maintain machine service priorities.
- Monitor RDS compliance and document retention through periodic system audits.
- Oversee the Cycle count and year end Physical inventory process.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Qualification Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
- At least 2 years supervising team members.
- Current application of Lean practices and methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal, team building, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.
- Supervisory, Coaching, and Organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Math skills, basic/metric required
- Positive work attitude
- Understanding and compliance of safety regulations
- Commitment to personal and professional development
- LEAN background preferred but not required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
