This position will be a working manager position (performing patient transports) during our growth/start up phases. Hiqh-quality candidates not selected for the leadership position will be offered other positions-there will be other leadership positions as we expand.

Summary/Objective

The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the station.

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the

1. Maintain day to day inventory and supply ordering

2. Schedules preventive maintenance / vehicle repairs and ensures vehicle problems are

addressed with Fleet Director

3. Ensures all files, manuals, etc. at station are maintained in good order and are current

4. Responsible for scheduling, hiring, evaluating, managing and disciplining station

employees

5. Responsible for preparation and timely submission of timesheets and other

documentation required for payroll

6. Networking with area hospitals to continuously improve our service and build strong

partnerships with customers

7. Provide basic or advanced life support treatment of patients

8. Work with in the managers licensed scope of practice

9. Leads, guides, and/or assists in training of lower level personnel and/or students, as

specifically assigned

10. Safely operate and maintain an emergency vehicle while in compliance with all laws

pertaining to the operation of an emergency vehicle while transporting patients

11. Render competent patient care in both pre-hospital and inter-facility setting

12. Thorough knowledge of EMS procedures and ability to integrate knowledge and

performance into practical situations

13. Interact professionally with other health care personnel

14. Interact professionally with disabled, disadvantaged, sick and injured persons

15. Work as part of a team

16. Accurately and completely document information required in EMS charts, including

PCRs, daily vehicle inspections, and daily inventory checks

17. Assists other EMS providers with EMS care

18. Give report verbally or in writing to higher healthcare facilities

19. Clean the equipment, check and replace the used and damaged supplies

20. Compliance with all company and local agency policies, procedures, and applicable

protocols for emergency treatment and transportation

21. Attend refresher programs and continuing education required by medical director

22. Maintain a clean appearance, demonstrating courteous, professional and ethical behavior


Competencies

1. Ability to manage a group of EMS providers

2. Self-confidence, emotional stability, good judgment, tolerance for high stress

3. Possess good verbal communication skills

4. Ability to deal with adverse situations

Active EMT-B, EMT-I or Paramedic certifications in the state of Nebraska is required


Work Environment

1. Physically strenuous and can be emotionally stressful, sometimes involving life-or-death

situations.

2. May be exposed to infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals, and other dangerous

substances. May encounter environmental extremes, violent individuals, and numerous

other hazards.

3. Work in varied weather conditions.

4. At times will have long, unpredictable hours


Physical Demands

1. Physically strenuous and can be emotionally stressful, sometimes involving life-or-death

situations

2. Bending, sitting, kneeling, moving and lifting patients and equipment

3. Must be able to drive/ride in ambulance for long periods of times without issue

4. Must possess physical agility necessary to lift and move patients safely


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

1. Rotating shifts

2. Full time position

3. Overnights and weekends


Travel

1. At times, the Manager will travel from one station to another to help with coverage.

2. Position requires traveling by either driving an ambulance or caring for a patient in an

ambulance.


Required Education and Experience

1. Supervising or management experience of 4 or more FTEs

2. High School Diploma or GED

3. Basic Life Support

4. CPR & First Aid Certified


Preferred Education and Experience

1. National Registry Paramedic or EMT Certification

2. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

3. Pediatric Advanced Life Support

4. Current state driver’s license


Additional Eligibility Requirements

1. Current & valid state driver’s license

2. Must pass company provided PCP physical capacity profile exam (post offer, pre employment)

& Drug Screen

3. Meet company policy MVR criteria

4. Must successfully complete company sponsored EVOC
