Assistant Vineyard Operations Manager

Mesa Vineyard Management is seeking candidates for a hands-on managerial position in the

Roseburg/Winston, Oregon area.

The position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of drip irrigation systems including pumping stations. Injecting liquid fertilizer and hose cleaning materials into the systems. Wind machine operations and maintenance in preparation for frost events. Harvest duties, that include supervision of grape truck loading. Preparation of truck loading sites. Loading and unloading grape bins. Monitoring of truck weights and filling out field tickets. Other tasks and duties as needed.

A well-qualified candidate would have the following qualities.

• Dependability.
• Assures safety is always a priority.
• Clean driving record and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Good supervisorial skills to train and manage employees. Good people skills in general.
• Computer and record keeping skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in tying down and trailering small equipment and grape bins.
• Forklift, excavator, trencher and backhoe experience.
• Knowledge of drip irrigation systems, components, PVC pipe gluing.
• Willingness to work nights during frost and harvest seasons.
• A commercial driver’s license is a plus.
• Ability to obtain an Oregon Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License also adds value.

Additional information.

• Normal work hours are 5-5 ½ days per week, depending on weather, season and workload.

Winter hours traditionally are 5 eight-hour days per week. Summer through fall have traditionally been 5-5 ½ ten-hour days per week. Frost and harvest season hours can be exceptions to the norms and depend on the workload at the time.

• As the need arises, fill in for vacationing or otherwise off-site co-manager colleagues.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
