Associate EDS Analyst Job at Zenith Insurance Company
All tasks are performed as part of a learning process and will involve a high degree of supervision and direction. The Associate Analyst is responsible for learning how to review, classify, and route a broad range of claims related documents to internal customers. Within a 6-12 month period, an Associate Analyst who consistently demonstrates the essential functions and required skills of the position will be promoted to the Analyst role.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Under close supervision and training, learn how to review a broad variety of imaged documents to verify legibility and determine if each document is associated with the correct claim file and categorized as the correct document type.
- Determines proper routing of document to move it to the next process step or to completion.
- Learn the specifics of various document types, common document keywords and phrases. Apply analytical and reasoning skills to make decisions regarding how to process documents given information available and established procedures.
- Demonstrate keen attention to detail in order to analyze large volumes of documents and data.
- Learn how to research and resolve exception documents by using multi-jurisdictional document and exception processing knowledge.
- Correct and/or edit documents that have been processed incorrectly.
- Show proficiency in using various software programs and adapting to new programs as the department evolves.
- Meets established productivity and quality goals.
- Work independently, while following periodically adjusted work assignments, to meet critical timeframes associated with document processing and volume demands.
- Participate in regular training modules and educational forums to deepen proficiency in document processing, to prepare for more complex work assignments.
- Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
- Respond positively to direction and performance feedback.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior office setting and/or document management experience in the following settings preferred: medical, health care, legal workers’ compensation or claims processing.
- Ability to apply analytical and research skills to determine the best course of action to take when processing medical, legal and claims documents.
- Ability to follow and access formalized document process procedures.
- Computer literacy required (ability to navigate multiple types of systems and input information into templates and screens).
- Basic knowledge of Excel preferred (e.g., data input, find and replace, spreadsheet navigation).
- Conscientiousness and the ability to maintain high levels of concentration for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Adaptable and comfortable with frequently changing technology platforms/software
- Self-motivated to manage production and quality expectations
