Associate Medicare Specialist Job at Tactile Medical
Overview: The Associate Medicare Specialist position is responsible for clinical review of medical records to ensure Medicare patients meet criteria for pneumatic compression devices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily critical review of medical record documentation to meet Medicare criteria
- Communicate medical records reviews to internal Medicare Specialist
- Request additional medical records as needed
- Develop and foster a strong and effective relationship with all customers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 1 year of experience in medical device or health care reimbursement
Preferred:
- Previous experience with third-party payer regulations and processes, with emphasis on Medicare
- *Knowledge & Skills
- Proven track record of building effective relationships with key stakeholders including clinicians, patients and payer staff
- Understanding of Medicare methodologies (coding, coverage, clinical criteria, payment)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Strong collaborative style, both internally and externally, to ensure objectives are met
- Results driven and proactive
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with emphasis on persuasion and clinical knowledge
- Proven ability to manage conflict resolution and build consensus between individuals and groups
- Able to multitask and juggle several different matters at a time
- Deadline driven with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to change direction frequently
- Ability to prioritize and delegate effectively to meet business needs
