Associate Product Owner Job at Inventive Group
We see our Product Owners as total visionaries.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to grow within an ambitious, people-first company but there can be many unknowns. For that reason, our ideal candidate is super sharp, exceptionally curious, and high-energy. We are looking for a true entrepreneur who values moving quickly.
As a Product Owner at Inventive, you will create a huge amount of impact as you are the number one client advocate. You’ll also work directly with our Director of Product, Barry, and CEO, Andy, to define our product strategy and requirements.
To respect your time and interest, our interview process is a simple three steps:
- 30-minute call with Alyssa Bunn, our Director of Recruiting.
- 30-minute Zoom with Barry Wayne, our Director of Product.
- 30-minute Zoom with Andy Siemer, our CEO.
Challenges and Opportunities
Getting shit done, brilliantly isn’t just a cheeky tagline. We love to roll up our sleeves, constantly iterate, and stay focused on the work that matters. We say what we mean, so get prepared to jump on board and trust your gut when it comes to GSD - let’s rock it out!
As a Product Owner, you will help advance the overall direction of our Discoveries. Every day you’ll work directly with our sales, engineering, designers, and project management teams, and externally with our clients.
What does this look like? Well, three examples.
- You'll gather requirements and work directly with our engineering team to understand what is feasible from a technology standpoint, envision how a solution might fit in best for a client, and then guide and lead sprint planning.
- You'll work with design to create prototypes, craft user stories, set up analytics to understand usage and impact, and iterate on solutions over time to make sure that they meet our high standards.
- You’ll even serve as a technical Project Manager from time to time.
At all times, it’s important to keep in mind our mission and commitment to quality. You must intelligently incorporate valuable, real-time feedback from our clients, and gather data, research, and technical expertise to inform each of our product requirements.
As a Product Owner, you’ll get the opportunity to continually develop our vision and strategy for Discoveries as well as help shape the long-term initiatives we have through our varied lines of business.
It’s important to keep in mind that success sometimes isn’t tied to a metric but rather your commitment to remaining enthusiastic and resilient in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are the norm.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience that’s required (and really important to have):
- At least one year of full-lifecycle Product Management/Owner experience
- Proven experience leading projects that require coordination of many stakeholders and teams
- Persistence and a whatever-it-takes approach to help the team meet goals successfully
- Extreme curiosity, a bias for action, and an appetite for learning, growth, and sharing
- Creative problem solving: think big, start small, grow fast!
- Data-driven and rational approach to making decisions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Empathy and a willingness to help others across the company
- Ability to work in a high-growth environment and adapt to changing scenarios and uncertainty
- Ability to work independently and reliably in a fast-paced environment under tight time frames
- Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities
- A passion for tech and scaling in general, and enthusiasm toward market disruption
- A love of building and collaborating toward a collective goal
Wildly impressive folks will also have experience with:
- Proven experience working in the product development lifecycle in a tech consultancy setting
- Experience in an Evangelist-type role e.g. public speaking, content writing, et al.
- Previous software and web development experience
You’ll totally fit into our team if you are:
- Searching to fit into an amazing, “do good” culture
- Passionate about software development (it’s okay to be obsessed)
- Naturally pleasant, self-motivated, and driven
- Committed to continuous improvement in and out of work
- Demonstrate respect and professionalism in everything you do
- Dependable, available, and on time!
