The Role:
Generate Biomedicines is seeking to expand the Therapeutic Research team by recruiting a talented Associate Scientist of In Vivo Pharmacology to drive preclinical and IND-enabling studies. This role will work collaboratively across groups to plan, execute and analyze preclinical small animal studies. A wide range of animal models including syngeneic, CDX, PDX and humanized mouse models will be employed. The candidate will be responsible for establishing in-house disease models and managing external CRO run studies. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, high level of organization, strong scientific acumen and a solution-oriented approach. We are searching for an enthusiastic, innovative, and highly motivated individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish relevant in vivo models to assess function and pharmacokinetics of therapeutic pipelines in oncology spaces
- Design, perform, and analyze well controlled in vivo experiments to evaluate targets, combination strategies, biomarkers, efficacy and PK/PD relationships.
- Write and present project protocols in compliance with IACUC regulations
- Coordinate and supervise outsourced animal studies at CROs and academic collaborations
- Communicate findings to teams, health agencies, and scientific community as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Desire and extensive experience working with animals required, preferably in an industrial setting.
- BSc/MSc with 6+ years of experience or PhD in cancer biology or immunology acceptable.
- Experience managing CROs desired.
- Experience with in vivo tumor models required
- Experience with mammalian cell culture required
- Proven track record of performing in vivo procedures in rodents, including preparation and administration of biotherapeutics
- Strong experience with immunological techniques including immunoassays such as high dimensional flow cytometry, ELISA and in vitro and ex vivo primary cell-based assays preferred
- Familiarity with humanized mouse models for immunology and immuno-oncology
- Demonstrated ability to execute experiments, analyze data, and report conclusions
- Excellent cross functional collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Able to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, team-oriented environment with colleagues from diverse disciplines
