Aviation Planner - Raleigh, NC
We are seeking a self-motivated
Aviation Planner for the Raleigh, NC, LA office. The candidate will have the ability to serve in a key role for multiple planning assignments and to interface with clients and the public. Our Aviation Planning Department focuses on providing unique services to clients beyond traditional Airport Layout Plans (ALPs) and Master Plans. The ideal candidate must have the ability to conduct or learn how to conduct complex justification studies, Benefit-Cost Analyses (BCAs), and forecasting efforts. Assignments may include significant oversight of multiple project assignments including writing, development of graphics, quality control, and presentation to clients. Some travel to project sites or meetings will be required (approximately 30% of the time). Relocation will be paid for qualified candidates. Remote work option for an initiative-taker who embraces autonomy. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years of aviation planning experience is required.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop effective/innovative solutions for aviation planning assignments including ALPs, property maps, land use assessments, obstruction mitigation plans, master plans, and complex justification studies.
- Assist the Project Manager and design team members with tasks associated with plan preparation, client coordination, and presentations.
- Present project findings to clients, the public, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with project team to ensure compliance with design requirements and technical excellence.
- Create organized documents and spreadsheets for use in aviation planning submittals.
- Track and coordinate aviation planning submittals and develop status reports for our clients.
- Keep up to date on the latest FAA, state DOT, and other relevant guidance and communicate changes to the team.
- Senior candidates may manage other design staff and guide the quality production of aviation planning submittals.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of aviation planning experience with detailed knowledge of FAA standards.
- Senior positions are available for candidates with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in design programs is preferred (AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Microsoft Excel, and AviPLAN).
- Ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision with a focus on client service.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness and ability to learn new job skills.
- US Resident or must have Green Card.
