Classification: Full time, 1.0 FTE

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Hybrid, Ability to work remotely and attend meetings and events in Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas as needed

Compensation: $59,722-$70,000/year DOE

Latino Network seeks a bilingual, mission-driven professional with bi-cultural proficiency and proven systems development, nonprofit, and community experience to lead a full range of activities for a growing program area. As part of a dedicated team working towards a shared vision and under the supervision and direction of the Associate Director of Health and Wellness, the Behavioral Health Manager is charged with supporting the Director and Associate Director of Health and Wellness, other managers, and direct service staff in all aspects of program development and implementation, systems development, and data collection and reporting. The primary goal is to increase the health and wellness of Latino youth and families by building a behavioral health program that is culturally specific and nimble to respond to community needs. The Manager works collaboratively to achieve program goals, meet and document measurable outcomes, contribute to a collegial and productive work environment, and promote the organization’s vision and mission.

In this role you will support our community by:

  • Supports Health and Wellness Associate Director with program design and implementation of behavioral health programing
  • Serves as a point of contact for the agency’s behavioral health programming.
  • Works closely with mental health providers in the Portland Metro area to gather resources and information to strengthen programing
  • Supports in the creation of behavioral health curriculum
  • Provides referral and treatment opportunities
  • Trains, develops, and supervises a dynamic team of Health and Wellness Coordinators, Community Health Workers, college interns and other staff as assigned
  • Manages MOUs and contracts with program partners.
  • Supports Health and Wellness Director and Associate Director by assisting with annual program planning and providing overall program management leadership and administrative support.
  • Works closely with the Data & Evaluation Department to document effectiveness and inform program improvements through: accurate data collection, data analysis, and evaluation of program outcomes.
  • Prepares timely program reports.
  • Serves as a point of contact for staff in other departments, as well as external partners to ensure proper communication, coordination, and data collection of health and wellness programs.
  • Supervises assigned department staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Specific Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work to meet program and department goals in alignment with the organization’s mission and values; appraising performance; recognizing and rewarding employees; carrying out any necessary corrective actions; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Requirements:

By nature of our service to K-12 school districts, this position is subject to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) mandate requiring all employees to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or qualification for a medical or religious exemption. What we are looking for:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or equivalent behavioral health field of study; OR licenced LCSW in the state of Oregon. Must meet state of Oregon requirements to supervise interns
  • Excellent written and oral bilingual communication skills in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated outcomes in health and wellness curriculum development, implementation, and facilitation, particularly for community health models and behavioral and mental health for the Latinx community.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively train groups of diverse professional levels.
  • Experience effectively facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the areas of community health, mental health, educational institutions, resources, programs, social services and government agencies.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the effects of social determinants of health.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other community based organizations, local public health authorities, schools, students, families, and community support systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently, lead a team, and work as a collaborative team member.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the functions of the position.
  • Knowledge of systemic political, economic and social issues affecting Oregon Latinos and policy and decision-making processes at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Employs critical thinking and confidence in decision-making and carrying out actions.
