Tuckahoe Bike Shop is seeking qualified new Mechanics to assist us with at our various store locations. We are looking for mechanics in Tuckahoe, Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Avalon, and Northfield. Please let us know in which town(s) you're willing or able to work.

An Ideal Candidate Should Have:

• Basic Mechanic Experience
• Some Prior Knowledge of Bicycles OR Willingness to Learn
• Customer Service Skills
• Keen Attention to Detail
• Prior Experience using Tools
• Ability to lift objects weighing >40lbs
• Prior Retail Experience is a plus, but not required
• Reliable Transportation to Work

Daily Duties Include...

• Complete Minor Repairs on the spot (i.e. Flat Tire repairs)
• Maintain, Service, and Repair Bicycles
• Test Ride Bicycles after repair to ensure quality service is complete
• Install New Bicycle Parts and Accessories
• Occasionally Answer Customer Questions in person and over the phone
• Utilize store computer to maintain service records, document services completed, and check service orders in/out.
• Call Customers to notify them when their service is complete
• Collaborate with other staff to provide top notch service
• Maintain a clean and organized work shop environment

Availability & Hours

• We are hiring for full-time and part-time Mechanics.
• We are flexible with scheduling but please let us know your weekend availability. Our busiest days fall on the weekend. This often means that our team needs more staff on duty for Saturdays, for example. Weekend shifts are not required, but ideally we would love a candidate with at least some weekend availability. If you have any questions regarding scheduling, please feel free to ask us during the interviewing process.

We currently operate full service stores in Tuckahoe, Ocean City, Sea Isle City, Avalon, and Northfield. In addition to our retail stores, our company also includes a seasonal rental division known as Surf Buggy Centers.

Surf Buggy Centers has been serving shore vacationers in Cape May County, New Jersey since 1984. Our company provides a wide variety of rental equipment such as bicycles, mobility scooters, beach equipment, linens, etc. We offer rental equipment by delivery as well as bicycle rentals at our walk-up locations in Ocean City, Sea Isle City, and Avalon. We are looking forward to taking on our 39th season!
