Sandeep Dave Laboratory
Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapy
Design, create, and enhance workflows, databases, front-end interfaces, and other computing tools for tracking, moving, distribution, sharing, integration, and analysis of a variety of genomic, genetic, phenotypic, clinical and related data.
Collaborate with others in the group for identifying, evaluating, and recommending new and emerging technologies to continually improve the data management, integration, querying, and analysis capabilities of the group.
Attend staff meetings, safety and compliance training. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Minimum Education/Training Job Requirements:
- BA or BS required in computer science or related fields
Minimum Experience Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months of programming experience including coursework in computer science with at least 2000 lines of de novo code written first-hand.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related fields
- Extensive experience in Linux
- Demonstrated experience with at least one high-level object oriented programming language (C++, Java, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least one scientific scripting languages (Python, Matlab, R, Perl, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work efficiently with an interdisciplinary group
In addition to the above, some combination of the following is desirable:
- Mastery or R or R Shiny App generation
- Experience with high performance computing clusters and cloud computing systems
- Experience with web development
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires a B.S. in Bioinformatics or the Biological Sciences with demonstrable computational skills; or a B.S. in Computer Science with a strong interest in Biology/Genomics. M.S. preferred.
