The Center for Development and Disability is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to provide direct client treatment and supervision in behavior analysis. Will be responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing behavior analytic services. Will conduct functional assessments and provide technical assistance and training in schools, school districts, and agencies. May train students/trainees, and consult with schools or community programs throughout New Mexico and provide community training as requested. This position requires traveling throughout the state of New Mexico depending on identified community needs.

Minimum $63,586 - Midpoint $80,309*

  • Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.
  • Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred


Summary

Provides direct patient care and supervision in behavior analysis. Responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing behavior analytic services for individuals with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders. May teach students/trainees, and educates and consults with families of clients, schools or other community programs.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst:

A Master’s degree in behavior analysis or a closely related field required with at least 3 years’ experience in the design, implementation, and oversight of behavior analytic services. Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification board (BACB) as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required. Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required if selected for hire.


Duties and Responsibilities of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst:

  • Conducts functional assessments and experimental functional analyses.
  • Designs and implements programs to decrease maladaptive behavior.
  • Develops meaningful, developmentally appropriate goals and objectives that lead to efficient skill acquisition.
  • Creates individual skill acquisition protocols.
  • Employs a wide array of strategies to program for and assess skill acquisition, maintenance and generalization.
  • Provides training in ABA theory and technique to parents, professionals, paraprofessionals, and other community stakeholders.
  • Collaborates effectively with family members and professionals from other disciplines to promote consistent intervention and maximize outcomes.
  • Modifies intervention based on frequent, systematic evaluation of quantitative data.
  • Prepares assessment and professional reports that outline findings and describe highly-individualized intervention recommendations and ongoing results.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
