JOB SUMMARY:
The Booker, will oversee all aspects of booking and scheduling ticketed and non-ticketed events at the venue, while maintaining the current customer base. Responsible for delivering a superior level of content procurement, private and special events, customer service, and effective relationships with clients, promoters, tenants, Venue staff, and guests.
EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent job experience
· 5+ years’ experience and knowledge of theatre management and booking of a live theatre venue
· Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with designers and directors.
· Must have experience in budget development and management.
· Ability to work in a detail-oriented manner, be resourceful and flexible, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
· Possess an exceptional customer service attitude
· Possess high organizational skills
· Possess impeccable clear and persuasive communication skills, both verbally and in writing
· Demonstrate advanced mathematical and analytical skills
· Proficient with booking/ticketing software such as EventBooking and Ticketmaster
· Ability to work irregular hours and weekend shifts as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Prospects and develops new business opportunities for event activities, using each opportunity to maximize revenue
· Negotiates contracts for all booking and talent-related agreements for show activities and services at the facility
· Attends booking meetings to discuss/review opportunities and meet new clients
· Conducts site visits with prospective clients, ensuring all appropriate theater staff are included
· Consistently share booking activity with theatre management/staff to ensure cross-communication so that all bookings are appropriately scheduled/managed
· Works and collaborates with the VP/GM, Theatre Operations, on managing the annual operating calendar, activity schedules, and projections for attendance and/or revenue, including providing adequate training and knowledge transfer with regard to operations
· Liaison with Academy in matters relating to the AMPAS; coordinates with GM, Theatre Operations regarding show logistics and venue-related requirements
· Liaison with Dolby in matters relating to theatre booking
· Responsible for generating and providing all theatre income, with support from the team
· Provide assistance and transfer of production knowledge in theatre operations, coordinating event logistics and vendors, as needed
· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Client/Contract Administrator, tenants, government departments and agencies, entertainment industry, local business community representatives, union officials, and civic organizations to encourage continual and regular use of the facility
· Works with Finance to obtain event cost estimates, proper insurance and reconcile final settlements for clients
· Provides or coordinates timely and effective responses to directives and requests received from internal and external organizations, agencies, departments, and individuals; assures and maintains the integrity of the theatre, in all forms of communication and personal contact
· Conducts post-event review and analysis, together with operations and finance
· Stays up to date with industry news and trends; uses networking opportunities to develop new business
· Continue professional organization memberships including but not limited to professional development, seminars, conferences

· Ability to effectively present information to Ownership, public groups, and/or business owners
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
· Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to Ownership, public groups and/or community leaders, boards of directors
· Must be able to communicate, verbally and in writing, with customers, co-workers, management, and the public, in an effective manner
· Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with all internal departments and stakeholders to ensure a seamless event
- Ability to read, interpret and understand booking and ticketing reports
· Ability to listen and ascertain the needs of employees, vendors, clients, and Ownership; ability to find and communicate accurate information concerning processes, policies, and procedures; ability to respond tactfully and courteously
· Creates positive relations and communicates directly with all Theatre staff
· Creates and maintains positive relations between the ownership, private vendors, clients, the public, government, and other external sources
TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient in all business software platforms, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Access, Internet Explorer, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media
· Skill in using a personal computer, engineering applications, and data management software in performing duties
PERFORMANCE METRICS:
- Booking and revenue performance of the theatre according to the business plan, contracts, and budget requirements
- Compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and contract requirements related to the booking of shows/events for the theatre
· Ability to provide leadership, counsel, motivation, and constructive performance feedback of staff, securing their respective commitments to the project's goals
· Effective leadership and management of department personnel
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Work normally performed in a professional theatre office
· Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
