SSOE is hiring for a Bulk Material Handling Engineer to work on projects in support of SSOE's growth in the Glass, Metals, and Manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities:
A Typical Day Might Include:

The ideal candidate will have experience completing engineering and design work in one or all these areas. The Bulk Material Handling Engineer will provide sound, unique, and comprehensive design solutions to complex projects. Will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team.
  • Develop process flow diagrams for the material handling system.
  • Determine equipment to be used and generate specifications for the purchase of the equipment
  • Develop material handling project scope and cost estimates
  • Direct the design of other engineers, designers and sub-contractors to support his/her effort.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines leads on multi-discipline projects to drive the team to a successful project completion.
  • Work closely with clients to understand and facilitate the design and construction of their process.
  • Travel to client facilities for gathering of field data and project review meetings.
  • Travel to client facilities and provide onsite technical help working with contractors.
  • The position will require 30% travel to client sites for filed investigation and will require extended travel during installation of equipment.
Qualifications:
Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:
  • Minimum of 7+ years of bulk material handling experience and onsite project assistance.
  • Leadership skills to manage the design team and work directly with the client team.
  • Experience in design of bulk material handling systems from bulk unloading through the final product. Example equipment would be: material storage, elevators, conveyors/feeders, weighing systems, pneumatic conveying, bulk filling systems.
  • Experience with glass batch handling systems a plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter and with minimal leadership required in day to day activities. Takes initiative.
  • Salary Range: $80,000-$120,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
