JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The successful Business Process & Solutions Analyst for the AES Customer Ecosystem (ACE) project will play a pivotal role in leading the execution and deployment of these tools by partnering directly with our local and global digital teams, business collaborators, and strategic partners to ensure our vision is translated to customer outcomes.
POSITION SCOPE:
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with business partners and domain experts from meter-to-cash operations as a Business Process & Solutions Analyst for the Billing functional execution team within the ACE project. The ACE project is a critical initiative that will allow AES to improve the usability of its core systems and build scalable solutions which will be the foundation for transforming its business and customer experience – including replacement of the legacy systems at AES Ohio, AES Indiana and AES El Salvador with a common, global platform consisting of the SAP Industry Specific Solution – Utilities (IS-U) product and its embedded modules for customer service, meter data and field service management. You will have a meaningful role in defining and ensuring delivery of the business requirements and specifications of the SAP solution through functional design, end-to-end testing and bill output verification. You will help to ensure project scope is delivered on time and within budget.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify, define, and manage high-level business requirements for system changes, detailed system change specifications, business process designs and procedures
- Analyze laws, regulations, tariffs and changing business strategies to find practical solutions to functional CIS system designs and integrations, focusing on aligning processes across US utilities and using standard SAP IS-U configuration where possible.
- Design the SAP configuration and customization process so that it meets the business process design and application requirements
- Validate the design with the collaborators so that the design meets the requirements.
- Identify operational impacts of system/process changes and provide direction on impacts
- Partner with the project testing team by performing test scripts and verifying that results meet specifications including comparison of bill outputs during operational readiness testing
- Assist in developing training to educate trainers and end users on performing CIS transactions
- Coordinate system parameters to meet business needs as they relate to implausible reads, bill/invoice document creation, exception outsorting, tariff modeling, and business process exception management (BPEM)
- Gather requirements for ad hoc and recurring reports
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or other related field or significant customer information system experience required
- Must have strong computer skills including using Microsoft suite
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Ability to take ownership of several projects simultaneously
- Ability to collaborate well with various partners and teams (customer service, digital, metering, regulatory, etc.)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Technical understanding of SAP IS-U or similar CIS system(s)
- Knowledge and experience in design and configuration of rate structures for residential, commercial, industrial, and other sophisticated tariffs
- Experience working with meter-to-cash personnel to design efficient user experiences
- Experience with Business Data Exceptions (BDEx) application to improve BPEM resolution
- Forward looking with the ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs
- Understanding of relevant Indiana and Ohio regulations and tariffs
- Ability to translate business needs, tariffs, and regulations into CIS specifications
- Ability to develop documentation related to CIS system and process changes
- Ability to mentor others
- Two (2) years or more experience in implementing and/or supporting SAP IS-U solutions
