POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the planning and purchasing of any and all items related to assembly or fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining, re-evaluating, and expanding primary sources of supply, and assisting in obtaining secondary supply sources.

  • JOB KNOWLEDGE:
    • Manages the planning and purchasing of all stock/non-stock medical products that have documented pricing with Cooperative Services of Florida (CSF), on behalf of Member Hospitals.
    • Process, generate & distribute all Expense Purchase Requisitions/Orders
    • Confirm receipt of all Purchase Orders to suppliers
    • Coordinates new product launch activities as assigned by project management system (workfront)
    • Manages projects and rollouts, and works cross-functionally with all departments in order to meet the wide variety of purchasing needs.
    • Review weekly reports to ensure all required actions are taken – planned orders, expedites, de-expedites, cancels, etc.
    • Expedites in-warehouse transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
    • Responsible for remote Purchasing/Planning at off-site locations.
    • Analyzes slow moving inventory and communicates with the individual departments to determine disposition.
    • Able to evaluate suppliers based upon price, quality, service support, reliability and selection.
    • Works closely with Pack Operations to improve production efficiency.
    • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
    • Works closely with the Receiving Department to ensure supplies arrive as promised
    • Ensures that materials and products are received in a timeframe consistent with what vendor quoted.
    • Documents vendor performance in Elite, Vendor Performance Scorecard.
    • Keeps Elite up-to-date of lead time and back order situations.
    • Monitors “stock product” level and warehouse inventories.
    • Coordinates with accounting department as needed or otherwise deemed necessary.
    • Reconciles invoices with purchase orders as needed.
  • QUALITY OF WORK:
    • Maintains and reviews Forecast vs. Actual sales for assigned products.
    • Establish and maintain inventory levels based on turns and product availability to minimize negative impact on cash flow.
    • Interface with all team members to make sure that product and orders are processed in a timely manner.
    • Limits backorders of all assigned products while communicating backorder information to internal departments.

    • Ability to demonstrate integrity in protecting confidential information
    • Demonstrate ability to meet LeeSar attendance policy, being at work, on time

    • Demonstrate strong written and verbal skill; clearly and professionally communicates with all vendors, peers, customers, and leadership

    • Daily demonstration of great focus and attention to detail in all processes
  • PRODUCTIVITY:
    • Generates and reviews average daily usage report, which determines how many days on hand inventory is available; monitors open purchase order reports, to follow-up and expedite late or emergency orders when necessary
    • Analyzes monthly reports as given and or assigned (Inactive, Slow Moving, Turns etc)
    • Timely maintenance of Elite to ensure accurate purchasing & processing information (Lead Time, Pricing, Delivery Dates, Safety Stock, Lot Quantities, etc.)
  • PROBLEM-SOLVING (CREATITIVITY & INITIATIVE):
    • Ability to participate in team problem solving as part of a continuous improvement culture
    • Demonstrate ability to identify potential solutions to department quality opportunities
    • Demonstrate flexibility and strong teamwork skills in any required job duties
    • Participates in Lean projects as required

EDUCATION:

  • Associate Degree or higher preferred
  • CPIM or comparable industry certification preferred
  • 2-5 years purchasing or purchasing and planning role
