Job Description:
High customer focused job role to serve as the primary contact between Client and the supply base for global/regional initiatives, including filling the functional seat for commercial discussions/negotiations with suppliers, being the recognized expert for his or her assigned portion of the global category, supports development and execution of global category strategies, and drives performance excellence in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) through direct leverage with the supply base partnering with Supplier Development Professional (SDP) personnel and Product/Facility Procurement organizations.
Position’s Contributions to Work Group:
- Provides supply network solutions expertise, using Quality, Cost, Logistics, and Development Management (QCLDM) to deliver maximum value.
- Support and/or lead critical projects within the team
Typical task breakdown:
- Varied, but generally categorized as supporting the team with by leading critical projects or issue resolution opportunities related to cost, quality, and logistics of purchased product for Client. For example, phone and email communication with suppliers on open issues, analysis of projects using excel and other similar tools, creating proposals based on project goals and data collected, etc.
Interaction with team:
- High levels of interaction both internally at Client as well as with the supply base.
Work environment:
- Office work with up to 25% travel to Client sites or suppliers potentially.
Education & Experience Required:
- Experience is preferred in purchasing, logistics, manufacturing, and/or engineering. The position requires an undergraduate degree from a college or university – or equivalent experience.
Technical Skills
- Understanding of basic manufacturing practices is preferred
- Basic understanding of excel
Soft Skills
- Strong communicator
- Well-developed interpersonal skills are required in dealing with sensitive issues and reaching consensus on specific actions.
- Willing to learn new tasks
- Consistent follow-up on open action items until fully resolved
Travel Requirement: 0-25%; US Based
