South Georgia North Florida Eye Partners offers a variety of eye care services from detection and medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries to advanced procedures including Lasik and cataract surgeries. We also have an on-site Optical Shop that carries the latest in designer frames and sunglasses. We offer several locations including Valdosta, Tifton, Douglas, Madison, and Moultrie.
Position Summary:
The Call Center Representative is the first point of contact for the organization. The Representative handles incoming calls from patients, outside partners such as Doctor’s Offices or Pharmacies and the public, schedules appointments, makes follow-up calls to patients and provides accurate information. Exchanges pertinent and non-routine information, answers questions and offers guidance via the telephone with individuals on a continual basis and doing so in a caring and professional manner. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities:
- Greets patients in polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions/directions
- Scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments
- Maintaining cohesive physician schedules for all locations
- Obtaining necessary information from patients to create a comprehensive medical advisory
- Willingness to further advance medical knowledge to maintain a working understanding of all diagnosis and their specific scheduling needs
- Able to maintain composure and patience with demanding phone calls
- Accurately and efficiently process and transfer calls as needed using a multi-line phone system
- Maintains clean, orderly working area and shared workspace
- Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations
- Maintains confidentiality regarding patient accounts status
Education:
- High School or GED required. Associate Degree or related health-care certification preferred.
Experience:
- One year of experience in customer service, front office and/or related clinical environment required; working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of practice management and electronic health records systems strongly preferred (Nextech, Compulink a plus)
- Strong computer knowledge and skills with a minimum typing speed of 45 WPM.
- Able to navigate multiple system applications.
- Ability to interact with patients from all economic, educational, social, etc. backgrounds.
- Ability to treat all patients with respect.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written and in a manner conducive to the patient’s age and developmental stage.
