Job Description:
The Ultrasound Technologist performs cardiovascular ultrasounds, ranging from echocardiograms,
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and examines all patients, verifying their identity for ultrasound examinations in accordance with procedures and techniques, which includes obtaining health status and medical history, patient's cooperation or ability to tolerate the examination. Confirms that the ultrasound examination correlates with patient clinical history and presentation. Inform physician in charge of any contraindications to the procedure.
Operates and adjusts ultrasound equipment, cleans, and makes minor adjustments, taking safety precautions necessary to protect patients and personnel from electric shock or other hazards. Reports any malfunction to the appropriate person.
Communicates with the patient and explains the exam and instructions to the patient and other health care providers, answering questions that are unrelated to specific diagnostic, treatment and/or prognosis.
Analyzes sonographic findings so comprehensive exams sufficient for a physician to direct patient management and render a diagnosis can be obtained.
Performs measurements and calculations according to laboratory and ACR protocols and guidelines.
Notifies appropriate health care provider when immediate medical attention is needed.
Assists in the orientation and mentor new Ultrasound personnel.
Performs other duties if required.
Education Requirement:
High School graduate and registered ARDMS or CCI.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
5 years of experience as Ultrasound Technologist
Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of office and administrative practices
Skill in use of personal computers and software
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and discretion
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
