Job Post: Chaplain
Duration: 3 Months Contract
Location: 6621 FANNIN ST, Houston Tx 77030
Pay Rate:$40-45/hr on W2(No Benefits)

Schedule Notes Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Duties:

• Develops and implements ministry objectives, policies and procedures consistent with Hospital philosophy. • Evaluates the spiritual needs within Texas Children’s and effects changes as needed to improve services and achieve objectives. • Maintains required records and statistics for administrative and regulatory purposes. • Supports the work of the Texas Children’s in the greater community. Represents the Hospital at interfaith meetings, community events, etc. as requested. • May actively supports the SLEH Clinical Pastoral Education and Spiritual Care Volunteer programs through mentoring and continuing education programs.

• Primary coverage in acute care areas, but must be skilled with triaging coverage in high acuity , fast paced hospital setting including Level 1 trauma unit and multiple ICU units. Able to work independently yet collaboratively with little or no direct guidance.
• What shift the candidate will be working? Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

• Where is the location the candidate will be working? Main Campus. Responsible for onsite coverage across MC
• Also please include required and/or preferred certifications or skills for this position. Completed M. Div, or equivalent. Completed 4 units of CPE. Board Certified Chaplain (BCC), or BCC eligible.

Skills:

• Demonstrated competencies of self-knowledge and personal maturity, knowledge and skills in theology, knowledge and

skills in pastoral care and leadership ability as articulated in the Pediatric Chaplains Network’s Document “Demonstrated
Competencies of a Pediatric Chaplain”.

• This individual must be able to work as a part of a pastoral care team ministry in a multi-faith environment where the

cultural and spiritual experiences vary widely.

• It is expected that the chaplain will be supportive of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Program of SLEH, interacting as

fully as possible.

Education:

The individual is to be ordained by her/his faith group
and a graduate of a fully accredited theological
seminary with a Master of Divinity degree or
canonically acceptable equivalent.- Master's Degree Required
