JOB SUMMARY Teach Cheer- Dance and or assist the Lead Instructor with Cheer-Dance and Dance programs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING Must be 16 years of age (or 15 with school permission). Must have at least one year experience instructing cheer-dance programs as an apprentice or cheer-dance instructor. Must have ability to assist with cheer-dance and dance programs. Must keep availability open and commit to entire session (Summer, Fall, Winter/Spring)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Comprehension of cheer-dance skills and techniques. Understanding the principles of customer service. Ability to communicate effectively with parents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with teaching cheer-dance programs making sure to take attendance and demonstrate proper skills. Arrive to work at least 10 minutes prior to class and be prepared for class to begin. Complete time sheets accurately, specifically, and promptly at the end of each work day. Use age appropriate language and music to teach class, keeping a positive attitude. Use appropriate classroom management skills to maintain control of the class. Remain in communication with coordinators/supervisors including checking email daily. Utilize organizational skills to stay prompt in deadlines to coordinator/supervisor. Communicate effectively with parents on expectations and upcoming performances. Assist in the planning and execution of the dance performances (includes turning in paperwork in a timely manner). Assist in marketing and promoting the dance program. Serve in a professional and courteous manner with the highest regard to the customer. Attend staff meetings, trainings, and performances. Provide 48 hour advance notice if unable to teach class. In the event of a needed absence, find a replacement and notify coordinator. Dress appropriately for the type of class you are teaching. Communicate parent/student concerns with supervisor immediately. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Dance Coordinator and/or Supervisor. Be prepared to take over (lead) class in the event that the lead Supervisor is unable to teach last minute. Make sure to have music and agenda for each class. Perform all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the companies safety programs. Work as a team player with co-workers and in conjunction with other departments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Seeing: to observe dancers and written materials Sitting: to sit on floor or in chair Lifting: to move equipment and supplies and to set-up and take down for performances. Reaching: to move supplies and equipment, perform dance movements Pulling: to move supplies and equipment Pushing: to move supplies and equipment Crouching: while leading activities, picking up supplies, and looking under equipment Writing: to complete required reports and paperwork and communicate with the dance Coordinators/Supervisor. Cheer-Dancing: to demonstrate appropriate skills/techniques

COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS Must have the ability to plan, organize and lead cheer-dance programs. Must have the ability to relate to others in a professional manner.

Compensation range
$18-$22 assistant cheer-dance instructor
$20-$23 cheer-dance instructor
$23-27 Lead cheer-dance instructor
