KPA Engineers is seeking a highly motivated person to function as a Senior Project Engineer / Manage in the design of civil and mechanical systems supporting Water & Wastewater Treatment processes. This person will work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the State, functioning in an upper-level engineer/manager capacity. Candidate will perform all aspects of design engineering tasks for the assigned systems of responsibility including delegating and managing subordinates and subconsultants.

Ideal candidates have knowledge and experience related to the design, specification, and related engineering tasks associated equipment and systems used in water and wastewater treatment facilities including pumping systems, blowers and aeration systems, anaerobic digestion, biological treatment, disinfection and various piping systems.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated individual with an appetite to develop the technical expertise to lead complex mechanical system. Individual duties include, but not limited to:

  • Perform Mechanical System design for water/wastewater projects.
  • Perform engineering calculations to develop equipment and system performance parameters for the purpose of sizing equipment.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to select the most technically acceptable design solutions.
  • Follow company and industry design practices in development of designs.
  • Develop engineering work products including Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), Mechanical arrangement drawings, and Equipment, Piping, and Valve specifications.
  • Review manufacturer's or contractor's submittals, data, reports, etc., for conformance with B&V criteria.
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines and project stakeholders.
  • Manage EIT and entry level PEs during the design, permitting, bidding and construction phases.
  • Manage and coordinate subconsultants

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing detailed project drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with material selection and sizing of piping systems.
  • Understanding of hydraulic principles.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills.
  • Independent and critical thinking skills.
  • Autonomous and dependable with leadership skills.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 6 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
