Job Summary

The Clinical Resource Nurse has specialized knowledge in horizontal leadership and is accountable for the management of care, and the care environment and assists the Clinical Nurse Manager with the day-to-day operations of the department. The CRN is unit-based and is responsible for a cohort of patients. The CRN is accountable for patient safety and quality outcomes. In his/her daily practice, the CRN develops an overall view of patients, families and caregivers, and establishes strong partnerships with them to deliver optimal care.

The Clinical Resource Nurse role within the nursing supervision department will perform as a nursing mentor on off shifts and respond to all Rapid Responses and Code Blues. This person will work closely with the nursing supervisor and charge nurses throughout the organization, facilitating new nurses as they transition off of orientation, assisting with patient flow and supporting the nursing supervision team.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing.

- Current NH license required or eligible to obtain.

- ASN degree is required, Master’s Degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

- 3-5 years of clinical experience in appropriate clinical area with demonstrated ability in clinical and administrative management.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:

- Membership in a professional nursing organization is preferred.

- Certification in specialty area or administration preferred.
