What You'll Do:
- Report to the CLO and work closely with other members of the legal function
- Act as the point person for the sales team and lead the negotiation process to close deals
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with brand customers, agencies, publishers and data provider partners, as well as other platforms in the space
- Partner cross-functionally with all Brandwatch business teams, including the sales, partnerships, client services, product, engineering, marketing, and finance teams
- Partner with privacy and security teams on the company’s data collection, storage, use and transfer practices
- Stay on top of the latest developments in laws, regulations, and industry trends applicable to social media SaaS platforms, including federal, state, and international data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
What You'll Need:
- 3-5+ years of transactional experience at a top law firm and/or in-house, ideally that includes working with internet, technology and/or media companies
- Business savvy with creativity in problem solving and balancing risk
- Comfortable with MSAs, SOWs, Order Forms, etc.
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating SaaS agreements, and similar complex services agreements, including related privacy and data security provisions
- Skills and experience necessary to advise on a broad range of the legal issues related to SaaS businesses, including intellectual property, data protection, consumer protection and privacy issues in the context of social media listening and management technology
- Excellent negotiating skills, as well as a track record of success in navigating complex issues in an agile and evolving business
- Proven ability to quickly understand highly technical products and services, while identifying key issues and risks and offering creative solutions to keep the business moving forward
- Bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, and admitted in good standing to a US bar
