Basic Job Functions:

• Compile and maintain economic and steel and scrap industry statistics and competitor information through in-person, phone and email interactions, and technical tools such as Excel, Access, Project R, and Power BI
• Provide macro-economic analysis based on internal and external information sources
• Create both recurring and ad hoc analysis for internal and external customers, presentations, business analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic projects
• Forecasting of scrap prices, steel production and shipments, and market volatility
• Prepare presentations covering industry specific and macro-economic data for internal and external customers, distill the data into a professional, polished delivery product with actionable information using the most appropriate methodology
• Work with IT to develop and enhance reporting services to provide quality data for analysis
• Develop internal and external industry contacts to maintain steel, scrap, and competitor databases

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in business
• Possess excellent analytical thinking skills and is proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
• Intermediate to advanced MS Suite user
• Beginner to intermediate user of Project R, SAS, Python SPSS, S+, or Minitab
• Comfortable with statistical analysis – regression analysis, time-series; and Bayesian

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in economics, statistics, mathematics or business analytics
• Project Management experience, people management a plus
• Demonstrate initiative on projects and assignments
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels within the company
• Willingness to provide timely and high quality analysis and reports to internal and external customers on the steel and scrap industries and company business
