Outreach, Communications, and Marketing Coordinator (OCMC)

The Air Force (AF) Wounded Warrior (W2) (AFW2) Program is in support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) to ensure all seriously and very seriously Wounded, Ill and/or Injured (WII) medically separated members or returned to duty of the Department of Defense (DOD) receive complete information and entitlements, the Components developed procedures to assist W2 in transitioning back into the civilian sector or to duty.

AFW2 Program ensures transition services are provided to WII Airmen/Recovering Service Members (RSMs). The goals of care, management and transition reform includes establishing a process for integrated continuity of world-class quality care and service delivery. The process focuses on quality assurance and improved resource allocation of medical and non-medical resources and services throughout the continuum of care from recovery and rehabilitation to reintegration. It serves as a collaborative process of inter-service, interagency, intergovernmental, public, and private collaboration through unified common standards of care, standards of practice, comprehensive recovery plan and national resource directory.

Communications and Marketing Coordinator (CMC)

The Communications and Marketing Coordinator shall have oversight of development and delivery responsibility over communications products, events, and serve in an enterprise-wide program role to sync messages across all program elements.

Job Duties:

  • Supports the planning, coordination and execution of strategic military community and outreach activities and special events in support of program initiatives.
  • Represents the program by creating marketing material for working groups, meetings, conferences and seminars using Adobe Indesign or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Capture and edit video for multiple programs using Adobe Premiere in a timely manner.
  • Capture and edit photos for multiple programs using Adobe Photoshop in a timely manner.
  • Reviews all deliverables for quality and standardization ensuring that they meet the needs of the client.
  • Interfaces and liaises with other leads within the program and across contracts to ensure continuity of messaging.
  • Writes and delivers high-impact, persuasive communications products such as articles and info papers to diverse audiences.
  • Writes content for newsletters, press releases, websites, collateral and other printed material as required.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • The incumbent must have a deep understanding of marketing and communications principles, as well as experience planning and executing marketing communications campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the development/execution of Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations.
  • Able to produce quality products (video, photo, articles, graphics) utilizing provided marketing tools and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience producing accurate, organized, detailed, and timely work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of print and electronic media production, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and communicate via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple and time-sensitive projects.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills and strong Associated Press (AP) style writing and editing skills.
  • Must be able to travel several times throughout the year
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation

Required Education Level:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the development/execution of Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations.
  • Must be familiar with Associated Press and Federal Language writing guidelines and formats.
