Compensation Support Specialist Job at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
This is a grant funded position that goes through June 2024.
Summary:
Responsible for providing support and resolution of compensation related issues, including answering employee questions and managing requests related to wage and salary issues, job evaluations, job descriptions, and other areas related to compensation. Also responsible for assisting with communication of district-wide compensation programs through providing consultative support to employees and management and assisting with other compensation initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assists employees by answering compensation-related questions and providing support in a timely manner via telephone, email, or other service-management systems
- Works proactively with staff from other departments to research and resolve compensation related issues as they arise, ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures
- Serves as a resource to school and district staff related to the administration, interpretation, and application of complex compensation programs, including salary schedules, FLSA status, bonuses, and other compensation related information
- Provides problem resolution, reassigning or escalating advanced inquiries to appropriate staff
- Records data to analyze problems and track them to final solution
- Interacts with employees and candidates via telephone, email, or online chat to provide support and information regarding compensation-related issues and questions
- Assists with creation of and maintains standard operating procedures (SOP’s) related to the Compensation department
- Assists with creation and maintenance of district-wide departmental organizational charts
- Assists with processing of bonuses and/or determination of employee salaries
- Assists with maintenance of job descriptions
Job Qualifications:
- Associates Degree
- Experience in human resources or other customer-facing role
OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.67 - $25.58 per hour
