Description: Salud Para La Gente (SALUD) provides high quality, comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare to underserved low-income communities in the Monterey Bay area, including Santa Cruz County and Monterey County. SALUD began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront “free clinic,” and with a growing need for health services, in 1992 became a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Coordinator to work together with the Compliance & Quality Assurance Manager to support Salud’s quality assurance and compliance program including risk management activities. This includes tracking policies, clinic licensing and staff privileges; trending data, and implementing process improvement projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides independent and responsible administrative support
  • Assists with incident report tracking, and monitors data to identify trends
  • Participates in preparation for local, state, and federal audits
  • Monitors and tracks provider and staff credentials and privileges, ensuring appropriate delineation of privileges are current
  • Monitors and tracks clinic licensing and certification, ensuring active and continued compliance.
  • Monitors and tracks policies and procedures due for renewal. Assists in Salud’s adherence to key organizational policies, procedures and plan documents
  • Supports committee meetings. Prepares agendas, minutes and packets for meetings and coordinates follow-up with meeting participants on tasks/issues as appropriate
  • Gathers, compiles, and organizes data, statistics, and other information for reports, as directed.
  • Prepares, edits and formats correspondence, documents, spreadsheets and presentations
  • Compiles and presents information for reports and correspondence.
  • Maintains digital and hard copy filing systems. Files documents in appropriate location.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality concerning all Salud information.
  • Ensures a productive work environment and achievement of goals through strategies and practices in line with the CARE fundamentals of communication.
  • Consistently adheres to and/or exceed SPLG’s communication guidelines and expectations with internal and external customers including co-workers, patients, and external partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Arts preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar or equivalent position, or equivalent work experience
  • Versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities and handle diverse, divergent and perhaps “time competing” assignments
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate discretion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary: $28.51 - $33/hr
