We are hiring a Computer Engineer to join our team at the Perry Nuclear Power Plant. This position is responsible for interfacing with various stakeholders (operations, maintenance, management) and championing system improvements as well as establishing the required maintenance to ensure system reliability for components in the assigned systems.

• Being (becoming) the Subject Matter Expert on the assigned computer systems, networks, and peripheral equipment.
• Providing support to maintenance on corrective and preventative maintenance activities.
• Investigating and resolving complex computer issues.
• Owning the overall reliability of assigned computer systems through trending of issues and development of activities to maintain the systems in a reliable state.
• Developing the long-term strategy for system upgrades and modifications to support the equipment reliability needs.
• Integrating site Cyber Security program requirements with maintenance of the assigned computer systems.
• Performing Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the position include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• Previous professional-level experience in engineering or computer system support is desired.
• A comprehensive background in computer systems and technology is preferred. Areas of focus include:
  • Computer Operating Systems (Windows and Linux)
  • Networking (Ethernet, serial, and fiber optic)
  • Database administration – Oracle or SQL Database Knowledge preferred
  • Programming/Scripting
  • Cyber Security best practices in the Operational Technology environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and analytical skills
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with all employees at Energy Harbor
• Ability to prioritize workload with input from key stakeholders and deliver results in established deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make technical presentations to management of varying levels.
• Ability to provide support outside of normal working hours as required to support operation of the assigned computer systems.
• Must reside within site-specific ERO response time.
