Location- Baltimore City, MD (REMOTE)

Position Description:-
Education & Experience
- 2-5 years of experience as content editor for websites (preferably .gov sites)
- Minimum of Bachelor of Arts degree in English, journalism, communications, or a related field
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft SharePoint (for example, mastering version control), Visio, and graphic design/illustration software
- Have hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (for example, Drupal, Salesforce, or WordPress)
- Must have practical experience writing for web accessibility in accordance with W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines [
- Understands SEO and keyword research
Skills Requirements
- Ability to understand a wide variety of civic subject matter, including public safety, property and housing, business development, trash and recycling, transportation and parking, and taxes
- Ability to write for the web in plain language
- Experience in condensing, re-structuring, editing, proofreading, and improving posts by content writers
- Experience optimizing content according to SEO
- Strong working experience with HTML and CSS
- Experience setting schedules, tracking deliverables, and reporting progress using Jira or a similar project management system
- Demonstrated ability to grasp technical concepts and translate them to compelling, understandable on-line content for both technical and non-technical readers
- Very strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
- Ability to effectively interact with a wide range of personnel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Job Type: Contract
Pay: From $30.00 per hour
