The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Waymart
is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated person with the required experience to work as Corrections Food Service Instructor.
As a Corrections Food Service Instructor, you will function as lead worker by assigning, participating in, and reviewing routine and specialized tasks performed by inmates in the areas of preparation, production, service, and baking. You will ensure proper control over inmates by enforcing custody and security regulations and inspect all food service areas, equipment, and food for conformance with established safety and sanitation standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment; 40 hours/week.- Work hours are 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
- Rotating days off, every third weekend off.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please Note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $43,877.00 (before taxes).
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
