You will be responsible for:
  • Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital’s core values of Integrity, Compassion,
  • Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork as outlined in the organization’s Performance Excellence Program Booklet.
  • Utilizes knowledge of the levels of growth, development, and skills for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric care for purposes of clinical ministry and clinical learning.
  • Responsible to the CPE Supervisor and other leadership of the Department of Pastoral Care
  • Continues to maintain investment in learning and personal and professional growth.
  • Provides regular and consistent pastoral care to patients and their families.
  • Works closely with nursing and other staff to discuss issues of patient care and to provide support during personal and/or spiritual crises.
  • Takes on-duty and on-call as assigned in rotation with other chaplain residents/CPE students.
  • Conducts devotional services and chapel services as assigned.
  • Visits pre-surgery patients, nursing units, and responds to crisis calls when on duty.
  • Perform duties and ministry in compliance with the Policy and Procedure Manual for the Department of Pastoral Care

Qualifications
What will you need?
  • Personal Faith commitment and integrity
  • Ability to work under stress.
  • Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with persons of diverse religious and cultural backgrounds and consistently establish and maintain relationships at significant levels of emotional maturity
  • Open to learning, personal change and growth.
  • One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education from an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. accredited center (preferred)
  • College degree in theological studies or related field (i.e.: behavioral sciences, education) (preferred)
  • Graduate Level Theological Education (preferred)
  • Ordained/Licensed Minister (preferred)
  • Eccelsiastical/Faith Tradition Endorsement (preferred)
