Carlton Group is looking to hire a talented crane technician to help build our crane inspection and repair services. This is a unique opportunity for a talented technician to take on a critical role with a 76-year-old organization.

Job Duties:

• Inspect/repair/troubleshoot overhead cranes and hoists and other overhead lifting equipment to ensure equipment is compliant with manufacturers, OSHA, and ASME Standards.
• Coordinate repairs and inspections of overhead crane and hoist equipment
• Interface with customers to create service and inspection programs and ensure full customer satisfaction in their execution.
• Communication between customers, Crane and Hoist management, and other technicians related to schedules, evaluations, and repairs
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and completely; time tickets, service reports, inspection, and sales lead generation.

Essential Job Functions

Service Technician Duties:

• Significant experience with electrical control circuits for single and three phase power.
• Mechanical gearing knowledge
• Motor repair experience is preferred but not required
• Machining and welding skills are a plus
• Strong experience regarding equipment modifications including VFD retrofits, radio remote installs, motor & gear replacements, hydraulic to electrical breaking retrofits and bar to festoon conversations
• PLC knowledge is a plus

Other General Duties

• Serve as a subject matter expert in operations support job duties and will train new associates.
• Communicate effectively with other branches to ensure the best practices are being utilized.
• Maintain any paperwork or closure notes needed to ensure all jobs can be closed out and billed for.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications

• Experience performing the above listed skills and knowledge on similar type equipment.
• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
• Must pass drug and background check (no felonies in the last 10 years).
• Must be comfortable working in tight spaces and at heights. Some heavy lifting will be required.
• Limited travel and overtime will be required (technician will be able to provide significant input on these items).
• Display a professional image and work within a team environment to accomplish goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
