About this role:

The Currency Specialist is essential to the continued functioning of our currency processing business, as they are responsible for the machine learning on multiple products of all new currency released into circulation as well as defining countermeasures for undetected counterfeits. They are familiar with our products and proficient with the engineering tools supporting the statistical analysis and data science (data capture, validation, labeling, and archival) skills they need to perform their job duties. They work closely with the research team, our service technicians, and international distributors as well as central banks for timely certification of our machines, diagnosing reported issues, and keeping abreast of emerging developments in the currency ecosystem.

What you will be doing:

• Develop International currency patterns (new notes & currencies on JetScan and iFX platforms)
• Maintain existing patterns (response to overactivity and training our products to detect counterfeits)
• Diagnose currency-related field issues using statistical analysis
• Coordinate field tests and maintain relationships with Global Field Service & distributors
• Manage annual certifications with the central banks in the UK and Eurozone.
• Develop & maintain fitness patterns
• Data Scientist responsibilities:
• Collect diagnostic and machine learning data
• Source missing data, annotate new data
• Organize data into usable formats and optimize the data archive
• Validate and cleanse data sets

• Build software to include new currency patterns
• Document software releases for test, field, & production
• Manage & validate test money and machine learning data
• Assisting engineering and test in product development related activities.
• Maintain and improve the currency lab.

The skills we look for:

• Associate Degree in Electronic or Computer Technologies or a certificate of completion from an accredited Technical Degree program or equivalent experience; statistical analysis a plus
• Knowledge of basic network communications between PC and servers.
• Ability to mechanically troubleshoot basic issues with electronic devices, such as printers or copy machines
• Ability to work independently with a given backlog of tasks and document your work
• Willingness to work with internal customers and to have a service-oriented mindset
• Willingness and ability to travel globally up to twice a quarter (but typically much less), up to a week or longer
• Ability to fit well with the existing team
• Adaptable and can learn new concepts while working closely with others on the team
• Curious and not afraid to ask specific questions
• Proficient with MS Excel and MS Word
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
• Must be able to work with people of different disciplines (work related), cultures, languages and beliefs.
• A second language is beneficial, but not required.
