Summary
Jescraft, a well-established manufacturer of material handling equipment in Oxford, CT, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Customer Service and Logistics Manager.
As part of a talented team, you will work to oversee, document, troubleshoot, and coordinate a wide variety of responsibilities including administrative functions, customer care, and logistics coordination. The Career

  • Acquire a commanding knowledge of the company’s product lines in order to effectively communicate with customers, explaining product characteristics, features and benefits
  • Improve customer service function, both to external and internal, facilitating organic growth
  • Take ownership of customer’s issues or complaints and follow problems through to resolution
  • Develop service procedures, policies and standards that continually improve upon service levels
  • Maintain an orderly workflow according to priorities
  • Receive customer purchase orders, confirm pricing and terms; ensure sales orders entered are accurate and complete of all required/necessary product and customer information
  • Secure freight quotes; handle freight claim resolution; ensure shipping documents are processed properly
  • Maintain awareness of critical shipments and expedites routing through packing and shipping
  • Work effectively with Operations Manager to coordinate expeditious flow of products to the customer
  • Liaise closely with customers, keeping them updated about the status of their orders, delivering customer satisfaction
  • Resolve any issues in a friendly, polite, focused and professional manner
  • Update systems and support analysis of our business to drive effective process improvement, eliminate operational mistakes and design long term fixes to business gaps
  • Take initiative to complete unanticipated or ad hoc tasks, and verifying the completeness of one’s own work
  • Adhere to company processes, procedures and protocols
  • Recruit, interview, train, support, and develop customer service team, as needed

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Upbeat, enthusiastic and professional – you like people, are optimistic and view challenge in a “glass is half full” manner
  • 2+ years’ experience customer service/account management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years’ experience with logistics coordination (command of 3PL and freight carriers)
  • Strong computer skills; Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, QuickBooks, network and internet usage
  • Strong aptitude for technology – adapts quickly to other software; ability to identify and implement technology to increase efficiencies within the company
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter with limited supervision
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills- ability to use logic and reasoning to find alternative solutions and approaches to problems
  • Ability to multi-task and be nimble in a constantly changing environment
  • Ability to work both in a team atmosphere and independently
  • Appreciates fewer layers of management, entrepreneurial experience, and visibility – benefits a small business environment provides
