The Opportunity
Kenzie Academy is looking for an experienced Cybersecurity expert to instruct, create, revise and deliver Cybersecurity technical education curriculum for multiple content areas. This is a unique opportunity to serve communities otherwise overlooked by the tech industry. You will work with students, facilitators, and other instructors to improve on lessons and activities. You will collaborate with teams such as curriculum developers and instructional designers. In our Cybersecurity coursework, you will help with the development and teach students the basics of network security, cloud computing, ethical hacking, and other aspects of cybersecurity . You will report to the Senior Director of Academic Programs at Kenzie Academy.
In this Role You'll Get To:
  • You will ensure the curriculum, assessments, grading formulas, and other relevant features are set up and rendered properly in the LMS and other systems
  • Work with curriculum development and learning science teams to develop and maintain signature aesthetics, standards and brand integrity of the Cybersecurity curriculum.
  • Evaluate potential opportunities to improve existing Cybersecurity curriculum and overall learning experience design.
  • Work with curriculum developers to ensure development of consistent learner experience across all units of the curriculum.
  • Manage overall end-to-end learner experience
  • Oversee creation of wireframes, storyboards, walkthroughs, prototypes, user flows, curriculum maps, final curriculum, and other product deliverables.
  • Work with Learning Science to evaluate program and incorporate learner feedback into design iterations
  • Deliver some demos (live lectures), Q&A sessions, and small group workshops through video conferencing. These demos may be recorded for ongoing distribution by Kenzie Academy.
  • You will ensure that all recorded demos, Q&As, and workshop video content are posted for students to review, if needed.
  • You will monitor data dashboards each day to create and communicate daily and weekly schedules for facilitators and students based on the findings of the data. When students fall behind or encounter a difficult life situation, you will collaborate with a Student Success Manager to help students get back on track.
What we're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science with a focus on Cybersecurity, or similar credentials.
  • EC-Council Certified preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity
  • Relevant teaching experience, or demonstrated technical ability (through technical interviews, work product, and portfolio of engineering or teaching work) may be considered as equivalent.
  • An interest and awareness of future developments in Cybersecurity
  • Experience in network and OS hardening techniques and administering and securing business-critical IT environment
  • Experience with one of the latest firewall technologies (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Fortinet)
