Position Summary:

As a Data Quality Analyst, in the Market Data Operations Group, you will apply your data analytics expertise to North American energy market data to bolster operations and help us maintain a high level of data quality throughout our product offerings. Our Data Operations team is responsible for the successful collection of over 100 million rows of data each day from nearly 1000 different web-based sources. We are looking for a creative individual who can find patterns within a robust real-time data set; identify ways to react and respond when data falls outside those patterns; and who can help evaluate the cost, benefit and appropriate priority of different approaches.

This position performs both operational work to maintain existing data collections and improve the completeness, correctness, and timeliness of data; and also performs development work to add processes for alerting and reacting to events in real time. It offers candidates an opportunity to develop greater knowledge of energy markets, cloud-based software products, and SaaS businesses, while applying and developing technical, research, and customer-facing skills with one of the most creative and hard-working staff in the industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest possible data quality for completeness, correctness, and timeliness of data by performing the following:
  • Design, build and improve data monitoring processes using various technologies, including Oracle databases, Snowflake, REST APIs, AWS S3 buckets
  • Perform statistical tests on large datasets to find patterns and anomalies
  • Respond to Data Quality events by triaging issues, based on priorities and communicating with proper teams regarding the necessary fix
  • Participate in off-hours data triage support during critical outages
  • Support customers with data-related questions
  • Contribute to technical departmental standards in such areas as change control, configuration management, development methodology, and coding standards
  • Attribute and analyze customer support tickets trends and communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Resolve data quality issues and collaborate with database developers on solutions for complex issues
  • Creation and maintenance of technical and market-based documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience in a programming language such as PL/SQL, Python, MatLab, R or similar language.
  • 1+ years project management experience managing prioritization, design, and full implementation of projects.
  • 1+ years energy market experience.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer strongly competitive salaries and real bonuses that are achievable and that you can impact. Base Compensation Range: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour, plus bonus.
