Demand Planning Analyst

SCOPE
Responsible for all unit finished goods demand planning activities. The Demand Planning Analyst leads, creates, and maintains demand planning models for their assigned products, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, operations, replenishment analysts, and other sources (i.e.: statistical models, syndicated consumer data, etc).
Partners with the Supply Planning Analysts on the overall S&OP plan for their product group.
The demand planning analyst is the integration point into the sales and commercial organization and a key contributor to the S&OP process. This position leads the dialogue each month for their respective customers and/or products with heavy interaction with Sales and Marketing.
The key deliverable for the demand planning analyst is a product level demand plan which incorporates current and accurate market information that allows us to predict customer demand and provide our supply chain with the appropriate information to plan how to meet that customer demand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for all finished goods demand planning activities in the S&OP planning tool for assigned products
  • Achieve consensus for global demand plan by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing, and finance personnel for assigned products
  • Create, facilitate, and lead monthly demand planning review meetings with required markets
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.
  • Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase in/out.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent level of relevant work experience.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSING
APICS certification is preferred.

YEARS AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE
2+ years of demand planning experience or relative experience.

KEY REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND CAPABILITIES
  • Knowledgeable of demand planning processes.
  • Excellent communication and follow up skills to manage expectations and resolve conflicts with stakeholders.
  • Strong numerical problem-solving skills. Ability to boil down vast amount of data to the relevant points.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams on an international basis.
  • Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint a must.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficient in English for verbal a written communication.
