The Role:
The Junior Designer will work with our Design and Development teams on our boutique restaurant interiors throughout the construction and design process. This position involves contributing to the production, coordination, and management of projects from design conception through construction administration. You should have an interest in traditional architecture forms, construction techniques, and materials, be an FFE enthusiast who wants to become an expert, and excited by working in hospitality and restaurant design. Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required, as is a strong work ethic and positive attitude. This role is an opportunity to work on a dynamic design team responsible for favorites such as Culinary Dropout, Blanco Cocina & Cantina, Flower Child, The Henry, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Produce working drawings (construction documents) in Auto Cad
- Creating Test Fit
- Building Sketchup and 3D models
- Creating shop drawings for custom furniture and millwork details
- Assist senior designer and procurement team choosing furniture and finishes
- Assist in budgeting and placing orders for materials and FFE
- Use Excel to build schedules and manage projects
Requirements:
- Design, Interior or Architecture degree
- 2-5 years’ professional experience in an architectural or design firm, hospitality/restaurant design experience preferred
- Knowledge of drafting standards & AutoCAD
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of 3D, BIM modeling software (sketchUp, Rvit, Archicad)
- Solid excel skills and highly attentive to detail
- Excellent at taking instruction and direction from senior design team
- Team-player with a positive attitude
- Eager to learn
