Experienced Diesel Technician

What You’ll Do

• Diagnose and repair house owned and customer vehicles
• Minor fabrication when required
• Determines vehicle condition by conducting Preventive Maintenance
• Inspections; oil changes; Chassis lubrication and identifying worn and damaged parts.

Inspections to be performed at multiple locations which could include inclement weather at times.

• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing inclement weather procedures
• Corrects light repairs and vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling components, parts, or systems, such as, electrical, brake, steering, hydraulics; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, wheel ends, brake adjustments, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.

• Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Keeps shop Service Trucks and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

• Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.

What We’re Looking For

• Journeyman level technician with the ability to work unsupervised
• High School Diploma or its equivalent required

• Desire to learn and accel into a career in diesel repair
• Must have A valid drivers license
• Ability to understand and adhere to Company Policies in all areas

• Must have a basic set of hand tools up to 1 ½”and ½ drive pneumatics
• Mechanical inspection tools
• Technical Understanding
• Attention to Detail
• Dependability

• Thoroughness
• Strong Verbal Communication and Documentation skills
• Inventory control measures
• Ability to implement a strong safety environment at all times
• Ability to work alone with little or no direction at times
